The Alley of the Water Sellers

Enough long-winded conversations, enough deceit and treachery
There is no more time darling, for complaints and separation
Your past in love is full of priors1, You are not to be trusted
I want a love full of longing, not a love that leads to the Luman2
I never love betrayers nor do I love liars
Do not attempt to sell water in the alley of water sellers3
Whom are you trying to fool?
Whom are you trying to fool oh, knowledgeable one?
Whom are you selling love?
If you're here to deceive [me]4, go ask about who I am first
Do not attempt to sell water in the alley of water sellers

You have loads of love victims who tell tales of you
They say that you write seven songs in one night
and each song you give seven tunes
And the next day you recite it with tears, longing and pain
If you are here to sing, go ask about who I am first
Do not attempt to sell water in the alley of water sellers

1. I.e: You have a history as a deceitful lover
2. A prison in Egypt
3. This is an Arabic idiom. It means something like "Do not try to trick the trickster/do not try to con a conman...etc". In genral, do not try to teach someone a trade when he's already an expert in it.
4. literally "sing ['on' me]". Idiomatic in this context.. to sing on someone (while nonsensical in English) is an Arabic idiom which means to deceive them.
